Ora, ammetto che mi da molto fastidio scrivere questo post. Una persona è morta e merita di riposare in pace, mi piacerebbe starmene zitto.
Ma non ce la faccio vista la carrellata di messaggi idioti lasciati sui vari social network. Mi limiterò quindi semplicemente a dire che non capisco.
Non capisco come si possa seguire ciecamente un’azienda schifosamente capitalistica e totalmente disattenta alle libertà degli utenti.
Non capisco come si possa regalare soldi un’azienda che fa costruire i propri device in cina appoggiandosi ad un’altra azienda famosa per i tanti suicidi causati. Se poi si tenta di sensibilizzare gli utenti al problema l’applicazione relativa viene bannata.
Non capisco come si possa amare un’azienda ipocrita che dice di essere amica dell’open source quando non ha mai fatto molto per dimostrarlo. (vedi WebKit e KHTML)
Non capisco come si possa cadere nel tranello del “supporta gli standard web” quando poi costringe ad usare programmi e codec proprietari assieme a quegli standard.
Non capisco come si possa sostenere un’azienda che tenta di battere la concorrenza con quello strumento totalmente anti-innovazione rappresentato dai brevetti.
Non capisco come si possa essere fan di un’azienda che fa il training ai propri dipendenti come se si trattasse di una di quelle truffe di marketing piramidale, con cori da stadio e l’imposizione di un pensiero unico (altrimenti licenziato! “Non sei allineato con il pensiero Apple“).
Non capisco come ci si possa strappare i vestiti per un’azienda che punta tutto sul marketing, sull’apparenza, sul wow, sul magico, sull’avere e non sull’essere, sul nulla.
Non capisco come si possa comprare prodotti di un’azienda che ha creato il precedente del “dispositivo bloccato”, che non puoi studiare, ne modificare, ne farne quello che vuoi. Compri il dispositivo, ma lo possiedi solo fisicamente e nient’altro, lo usi esattamente come quest’azienda ha deciso tu debba usarlo. Hanno inventato le licenze proprietarie anche per l’hardware.
Non capisco come si possa idolatrare il CEO di quest’azienda. L’uomo Steve Jobs la maggior parte di noi non lo conosce, ma il CEO si.
Non lo capisco, perchè una volta dice che l’open source è “great“, poi che “Open systems don’t always win“. A seconda della convenienza?
Non lo capisco, perchè oltre ai brevetti ha tentato di attaccare la concorrenza con idiozie come il porno e altre falsità.
Non lo capisco perchè a me sembra che abbia contribuito a creare un mondo basato sul luccichio, sull’apparenza, nascondendo grossi problemi etici. Una metafora, nemmeno troppo distante, della finanza moderna dove tutto va bene, consumare va bene, indebitarsi va bene, l’importante è la crescita e il PIL. Della condizione dei lavoratori, del divario fra poveri e ricchi, dello sfruttamento dei paesi del terzo mondo non ci si deve occupare.

Se non condividi le tue scoperte e il tuo lavoro col mondo non crei innovazione, crei solo capitale da ridistribuire ai tuoi azionisti e per questo, di solito, non vieni ricordato dalle generazioni future.
Steve Jobs era un imprenditore, Apple un’azienda che fattura.
Capiamoci, anche un’azienda e qualunque suo dipendente può fare del bene. Sono convinto che si riesca a fare business e contemporaneamente non scendere a compromessi con la propria morale; bisogna però vedere se sei disposto a farlo o se una morale ce l’hai.
La cosa triste e che sembra che molti abbiano bisogno di un mito e una persona da idolatrare, ma soprattutto che lo cerchino in qualcuno che vende prodotti.
